It’s All About The Business Model

People like fantasizing about the type of business they hope to have one day. Continue dreaming!

My recommendation to you is that, regardless of your purpose for owning a business, THE KEY is to select one that allows you to do three things:

1. It corresponds to your time commitment:
a. Will this be a full-time engagement? (40+ hours each week)
b. Will you do this on the side of your job and hire a manager? (10-20 hrs/wk)
c. Do you want to be completely hands-off? (1-2 hours each month)

2. It corresponds to your intended role in the business = THE BUSINESS MODEL:
a. Owner/operator of a business on a daily basis
b. Manage the manager(s) – semi-absentee
c. Absentee investor

3. It leverages your skillset:
a. People skills to interact with employees and customers, business mindset
b. People management and leadership, business smarts – executive management
c. Executive management, investor experience

Naturally, the individual must meet the financial requirements of any franchise.

Important Note: The less of “you” there is in a business, the more of your “money” is in a business.
