The statistics on the pet industry are staggering. It’s about a $100 Billion/year industry with continued compound annual growth of over 5% moving forward after the surge during Covid.
For research, I visited a franchise founder, Don, last week. To quote him, “I can really geek out on technology.” His genius is applying SOPHISTICATED technology to dog washing and grooming services! REALLY!
QUESTION: Since the dogs are hand washed and groomed by the employees, how is this service technology-driven?
ANSWER: Software automatically assigns employees to each dog (customer) by 2 things:
The speed of employees at each station in the process AND
By breed of dog.
So, if Sally is faster washing a beagle, like my Annie pictured below, than Joe, Mary, or Steve, she is assigned by the software to wash Annie. If Joe is faster at drying beagles than the other employees, he does the drying. The same employee assignment occurs automatically by the software for the nail trimming and grooming stations
