I am a big planner and goal setter. However, I also admit that I sometimes fall short on follow-through and taking action on my goals.
If you struggle like I do on following your plan and achieving your goals, you’re not lazy… and you’re definitely not “behind.” You’re human. And most goals fail for one simple reason: they’re too big, too vague, and/or too overwhelming to follow through on consistently.
Here’s the good news: you don’t need more motivation—you need a better system.
Try these 2 simple shifts to make goal-setting easier (and actually doable):
✅ 1) Set “micro-goals” that create momentum
Instead of “I want financial freedom,” start with:
- “I will save $50/week.”
- “I will research 2 business options this month.”
Small wins build confidence—and confidence creates action.
✅ 2) Tie your goals to a real-life reason
Ask yourself: Why does this matter to me?
More time with family? Attending kids’ activities? More control? A plan to leave corporate? Retirement security? Flexibility?
When your goal has meaning, you stop quitting when your energy wanes, life gets distracting or it gets hard.
If your bigger dream is financial freedom through business ownership, here’s a powerful option to consider:
Franchising.
A franchise gives you a proven business model, plus training and support so you don’t have to figure everything out alone. You still own your business—but you’re not starting from scratch.
If you’re ready to stop “thinking about it” and start building something real, I encourage you to check out the many free resources on my website from FAQs to daily blogs to a host of videos like “How To Unclog Your Career.”
