Yesterday, we celebrated the incredible dads who fill our lives with love, guidance, and endless support.

Happy Birthday Celebrations - An Unusual History

The emphasis on celebrating one’s day of birth is a new social and cultural phenomenon in the U.S. As a result of the Industrial Revolution, two interesting factors played into birthday festivities.

• Children became less valued as workers and more emotionally valued as family members.

• The widespread use of clocks and pocket watches to note time helped people mark the passage of time.

This year current year is my Golden Birthday year. See the trivia questions below for what that means.

Tomorrow is my birthday. Tomorrow is also my husband’s birthday. After we share that fact, he also quips that we share the same wedding anniversary We celebrated it yesterday as we had our family Easter festivities.

 Answer: When you turn the same age as the date of your birthday.

How Did You Meet Your Spouse?

My mother was a great storyteller. When she met a new couple, a frequent question to get them talking was, 

“How did you meet?”

With Valentine’s Day happening tomorrow, for those in relationships, let’s share how we met our spouses or significant others. 

As for me, I met my husband at a fundraiser for children born with heart defects. The name of the event, which is still held, is “Doctors Who Cook.”

It was organized by a close friend, Julie Moretz, whose son Daniel was born with a hole in his heart. 

Ashley and I sat next to each other; the rest is family history.
