Should you follow your passion? Definitely!

You should enjoy what you do on a daily basis and love the lifestyle that the business creates.

Consider Georgia Tech's golf coach. He was featured in an edition of the alumni magazine a few years ago. He described the Fall season as a hectic time since he had to go to all the tournaments. There is also a Spring season in college golf, which requires extra travel. Not only that, but he also traveled to scout new team members for the following year.

The interviewer asked the coach how often he plays golf now.

His answer?

The road-weary coach admitted he’s playing “not at all.” Unfortunately, the work schedule and resulting lifestyle didn’t allow him to do what he was passionate about.

Bottom line: it’s not what the business does that matters.  You and how you want to spend your time is what matters.
